The Croatian authorities have begun to fight against a serious rise in prices for food, as well as for gas and electricity. Today, Prime Minister Andrei Plenkovic, during a government meeting, spoke about new measures to support citizens that have been taken to combat inflation (in June, its size reached record levels since 1991).

“The package is comprehensive and does not leave anyone on the sidelines, together with households, the non-profit sector and the economy, we will take care of numerous vulnerable categories, as well as accelerate the transition to renewable energy sources,” the prime minister said at a meeting broadcast by the press service.

According to him, the entire package of measures will cost the budget 6 billion kunas (approximately €800 million).

According to Plenkovich, after consultations with producers and retail chains, it was decided to limit prices for a number of products: in particular, for sunflower oil, milk, granulated sugar, etc. In addition, prices for butter have been reduced by 20%, and, for example, on the pork neck on the bone by 34%.
