The export of Iranian dried apricots and Jumbo Dried Apricot hereinafter as Gheysi increased in July 2022 compared to June 2022 and July last year. However, the export of these products has decreased from the beginning of this year to the end of July (the first seven months of 2022) compared to the same period in 2021.

According to the Iran customs statistics, 84 tons of dried apricots and Gheysi worth 207,000 USD were exported from Iran in July 2022. The average price of mentioned crops was 2.46 USD per kg for export last month.

The export of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi increased significantly in July 2022 compared to the previous month. 56 tons of dried apricots and Gheysi worth 124,000 USD (2.21 USD per kilogram) were exported from Iran in June this year. The export rate has grown by 50 percent in terms of weight and by 67 percent in terms of export value in July compared to June. The export demand for this year’s production increased due to the arrival of this year’s product in the market in early July. This issue led to an increase in exports in July compared to June.

The export rate of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi increased in July this year compared to the same period last year. 52 tons of these crops worth 100,000 USD (1.92 USD per kilogram) were exported from Iran in July 2021. The export of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi has risen by 62 percent in terms of weight and by 107 percent in terms of export value in July this year compared to last year. The increase in the quality of products this year has raised the export demand for this product compared to the previous year. It has also caused an increase of more than 28 percent in the price of this product in July this year compared to last year.

The export of this product has dropped in the first seven months of this year compared to the same period last year, despite the increase in the export of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi in July. 744 tons of dried apricots and Gheysi worth 1,705,000 USD (2.29 USD per kilogram) were exported from Iran in the first seven months of this year. 909 tons of the mentioned products worth 1,706,000 USD (1.94 USD per kilogram) were exported from Iran to other countries in July 2021. The export rate has decreased by 18 percent in terms of weight and by 3 percent in terms of export value in the first seven months of 2022 compared to the same time last year. The most important reason for the decrease in exports in this period compared to the previous year is the decrease in product inventory in the first seven months of this year compared to the same time last year (especially before the new year’s product enters the market). Decreasing the amount of inventory as well as increasing demand has increased the price of each kilogram of dried apricots and Gheysi exported by Iran in the first seven months of this year compared to last year. The export price of these crops has increased by 18 percent per kg. It was 1.94 USD in the first seven months of 2021, and it reached 2.29 USD in the first seven months of 2022.

The costs of Iranian Gheysi and dried apricots have fallen over the past month in the domestic market of Iran due to the increase in the supply of these crops caused by the arrival of the new year product in the market. However, their price has grown in the world markets due to the decrease in the exchange rate of foreign currencies against the Rial caused by increasing hopes regarding the return of Iran and the USA to the JCPOA, and the revival of this agreement. Compared to last month, the price of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi for export has risen by 1.5 to 4.5 percent.
