Celep stated: “In the period from October 6, 2021, to March 5, 2022, Turkey’s overall dried fig exports increased by 2 percent to $166 million. Germany and France are first in our exports with 24 million dollars, and the USA with 15 million dollars. Our Union continues to fight against the sourness beetle, which causes quality loss in dried figs and negatively affects our exports. By having the attractive bait traps made, we have distributed them free of charge to our producers in the villages where pests are concentrated in the production regions, in cooperation with our Agriculture and Forestry Provincial/District Directorates.”
Market players reported that there is not much activity in the markets that the raw material prices remained the same. Weather conditions are currently favorable for the new growing season.
The Turkish Lira depreciated slightly and noted today the Usd/TL rate at 14.84 TL (14.36 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 16.24 TL levels (15.64 last week).
