Due to the High Price of Sesame, India Did Not Get the Order in Korea’s Tender

Spread the news!

The highest order of 3300 MT of sesame was taken by Nigeria and 1200 tons went to Sudan.

The result of the tender for 6500 MT sesame seeds from Korea was announced on Thursday, according to which India has not received a single-ton order. Due to the high price of Indian Sesame seeds, no one had filled special bids and there was no parity in exports, due to which the entire order has been received by other countries.

Nigeria got the highest order

In Korea’s tender of a total of 6500 tonnes of sesame seeds, Nigeria has got the highest order of 3300 tonnes while Sudan has got the order of 1200 tonnes. The lowest rate of Sesame was $1695 quoted from Uganda and the highest rate of $1885 from Burkina Faso.

Uganda received 600 tons between $1695 to $1720, Sudan 1200 tons from $1860 to 1875, Nigeria 3300 tons at $1865 to 1870, China 600 tons between $ 1875 to 1885, and the lowest order of 300 tons to Pakistan at $1882.

$300 higher price than average

According to the leading traders of Sesame seeds in India, the price of Indian Sesame is currently higher by $300 to $350 per ton on average. Indian exporters did not even submit many bids and the bids that were filled were at a higher price, due to which there was no situation to get orders. Indian exporters no longer have parity in exports, so now the trade of the sesame market is dependent on domestic consumption mainly. If there is no domestic trade contribution, then the market may decrease by 30 to 50$ per kg and if the demand in the local market remains good, then the market will remain stable.

One thing is certain by experts the Indian Sesame crop is very less compared to its demand and the new crop will come only when the summer crop starts.
