At present, the export demand is excellent in coriander. In the last 15 days, 225 to 250 containers have been exported. The new thing in the export of coriander is that the demand in China is visible on a large scale. Till now, China used to buy retail coriander from India, but for the first time, China has made massive purchases. Commonly China used to buy coriander from Russia. Also, purchasing Ramzan festivals from Bangladesh, the Middle East, and Gulf countries is good.

Âll businesses processing coriander

The coriander production in Gujarat is estimated to be 7.0 to 7.5 million bags, of which 1.4 to 1.5 million have arrived. Presently 0.1 million sacks are being traded daily. At present, the demand for fresh coriander is slow in the states of South India, but the need for old coriander is good. There are more than 200 units processing coriander in Gujarat, out of which all units are currently operational because there is good value in processing coriander. Most of the units processing groundnut seeds have currently diverted to coriander.

Enormous stock deposits

Coriander is likely to get good returns in the current year due to a perception of enormous stock deposits of coriander in the exchange. If China’s demand for coriander is good going forward, coriander futures may increase to 27500 due to the possibility of a rise.

Coriander being the cheapest in the spice complex, stockists will be attracted to purchase. There is excellent support for export demand in coriander. Still, there is no possibility of any massive boom due to the large crop and the pressure of new arrivals starting in all the states, including Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

The coriander seeds prices were recorded at $0,93 per kg FOB.
