After the rise in the last few days, the selling of red chilies by the farmers of major producing states increased. Even after this, there has been an increase in arrivals. However, it is estimated that there won’t be any long ups and downs for the spice in the coming days.

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are the largest red chili-producing states in the country. Both these states have received good rainfall recently. Even after the rains, there is no information about any new red chili crop damage.

As per the latest information, the arrival of red chilies in Guntur has increased to about 60 thousand sacks. There has been a slight slowdown in red chilies due to comparatively higher arrivals and comparatively sluggish offtake.

Earlier, farmers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had limited the sale of their red chili crop for some time to get higher prices later. This was the reason that even after the introduction of the new crop this time, the price of this major grocery commodity remained high on the spot. Surprisingly, from the beginning of the season till recently, there were reports of red chili prices remaining strong in big spot markets, including Guntur, even after the farmers increased their selling.

However, in Guntur, Teja red chilies are reportedly traded at an earlier level. Red chili number 334 remains stable.

The Chilli dried long red stemless prices were Recorded at $2,60 per kg FOB.
