The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) predicts a decrease in grain production in Ukraine in 2024/25 compared to the previous season. This is evidenced by data in the USDA report for May.

Thus, experts predict that Ukrainian agrarians will harvest 21 million tons of wheat this year. This is 2 million tons less than the 2023/24 indicator. Export of wheat will decrease even more – by 3.5 million to 14 million tons.

At the same time, the gross harvest of corn will amount to 27 million tons. This is 4 million tons less compared to the previous year. The export will decrease by 2 million tons to 24 million tons.

Barley harvest in Ukraine is expected at the level of 5.2 million tons. This is 1.15 million tons less than the previous season. Nevertheless, exports will not decrease and will amount to 2.3 million tons.

In addition, a reduction in rye production is forecast to 230,000 tons (-10,000 tons).
