Ukraine has resumed active negotiations with China on the supply of a number of groups of goods belonging to agricultural products. This was announced in an interview with AgroPolit.com acting Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Olga Shevchenko.
“In 2022, we opened more than 20 new markets, despite the war and such logistical constraints. Some of our colleagues met us halfway. The competent authority of the People’s Republic of China conducted an online inspection of Ukrainian frozen beef producers to assess their compliance with the requirements of Chinese food safety legislation” Shevchenko said.
“We are currently working with China, a large bilateral negotiation pool is underway, the result of which is expected this year, along with the opening of a new market for Ukraine.”
The process of harmonization of bilateral certificates is currently underway.
As a reminder, sunflower prices in Ukraine currently vary considerably depending on the region, delivery terms, oil content and batch size. The prices are on an upward trend, which will be supported by a request from China to purchase a significant batch of Ukrainian sunflower oil.
