India’s sesame prices have started to move down as there are no more activities in the market for sesame. Also, it was expected after a great hike which had been for the last few weeks. Arrivals of white and black sesame seeds have decreased. There are no trades for the sesame, so fewer arrivals in sesame seeds did not affect the market prices.
Currently, Sesame prices are trending at $1,43 per kg FOB for white natural 99/1/1 and $1,64 per kg for white natural 99.95 sortex variety. The market is down by $35-$40 per ton.
According to the traders, minimal buying from exporters and buyers is away from the markets, mainly waiting for movement and watching the trend.
As per the farmers’ report, now sesame crops need sunny weather, but there are predictions of rains for the next few days. Therefore, farmers have a fear of crop damage and the quality of sesame will affect them.
The new-season crop is expected to arrive in markets from November month. However, in Rajasthan Mandis, new arrivals have started coming into the markets. But they are yet not sufficient. On the other hand, container availability and high sea freight are still concerns for importers in the overseas market.
Please wait for the new crop, and expectations that the market might get down further can be why buyers are silent now.
