The most important customers of Iranian Gheysi(Jumbo Dried Apricot) and dried apricots were Iraq, Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia, and Turkey in the first five months of this year. The average price per kilogram of Iranian dried apricots has increased by about 16 percent during this period compared to the past year due to decreased market inventory.

According to Iran customs statistics, 605 tons of Iranian Gheysi and dried apricots worth 1,375,00 USD were exported from Iran during the mentioned months this year. The most important customer of Iranian Gheysi and dried apricots has been Iraq during this time, with imports of about 65 percent of the mentioned products. 392 tons of Gheysi and dried apricots worth 785,000 USD (2 USD per kg) were exported from Iran to Iraq during the first five months of this year. After Iraq, the Republic of Azerbaijan is the second export destination of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi, importing 67 tons worth 187,000 USD (2.80 USD per kg). It has a share of about 11 percent in exports in terms of weight.

Some countries are the next export destinations of Iranian Gheysi and dried apricots in the first five months of this year, including Russia with imports of40 tons worth 120,000 USD (3 USD per kg), Georgia with 36 tons worth 99,000 USD (2.75 USD per kg), and Turkey with 31 tons worth 94,000 USD (3.03 USD per kg).

The export of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi has decreased in the first five months of 2022 compared to the same period last year. 823 tons of dried apricots and Gheysi worth 1,604,000 USD were exported from Iran in the first five months of the previous year. The export of these products has declined by 26.5 percent in terms of weight and by 14.3 percent in terms of export value in the first five months of this year compared to the same time last year. The most significant reason for the decline in exports of this product is the reduction in market inventory in the first five months of this year compared to the past year. The decline in market inventory also led to an increase in export prices compared to last year.

The average price per kilogram of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi increased by 16.4 percent in the first five months of this year compared to the same period last year. It has reached 2.27 USD per kilogram from 1.95 USD per kilogram. Over the past month, the price of Iranian dried apricots and Gheysi has been stable in Iran’s domestic market, but the cost of this product has declined in the

world markets due to the increase in the foreign exchange rates against the Rial.
