The Guntur spot market of Andhra Pradesh, a primary producing state, has had reasonable pricing recently due to the limited arrivals of red chilies. However, the demand is strong for the commodity. As a result, the red chili price is expected to intensify in the coming days.

The news is that 40 thousand sacks of red chilies were reported to have arrived in Guntur. There has been a significant rise in red chilies due to lower arrivals and stronger off-take. Earlier, there was a price drop in the commodity due to increased selling by the farmers. Also, the arrival of red chilies had increased in the leading spot markets like Guntur. It was reported before the summer holiday began that the arrival of red chilies was about 60-70 thousand sacks.

In the past, the red chili crop was feared to be weaker than usual in all three major states of India, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. Even after the introduction of the new crop this time, the price of this major grocery commodity remained high on the spot.

As a result, from the beginning of the season till recently. Red chili prices remained strong in Guntur and other major spot markets across the country. The rate of red chili stayed up mainly even after the farmers increased their sales.

There has been an excellent off-take of all the varieties across India. Hence there is no possibility of any price drop for the spice. Instead, the chances of a price increase in the coming days are heavy.
