The United States plans to allocate nearly $700 million to modernize ports, railways, and checkpoints of Ukraine, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said after a meeting with U.S. Special Representative Penny Pritzker.
“The first is export logistics and transportation. We need to modernize the checkpoints, ports, and railways of Ukraine. This will improve logistics and increase export capacity. The United States plans to provide almost $700 million for this purpose,” the minister said.
In addition, the parties discussed the issue of investment in the restoration of the energy grid and municipal infrastructure damaged by Russian shelling.
To recap, Ukraine’s economy will continue to receive investments from the United States, and farmers will continue to receive professional development and support from American companies, said Andre Negreiros, Head of Central and Eastern Europe at Corteva Agriscience, an international research and development company.
EU4Business, with funding from the European Union and the German government, is launching another wave of grants worth €3 million. The grants will support the resumption of business activities in the areas of Ukraine most affected by the hostilities and occupied territories.
