Figs: Affect of the pandemic on the exports

Turkey is the biggest figs producer throughout the World. Both exporters as well as the farmers have a good Season behind and are working with their preparations for the new crop. Please login or sign up now.’] It is too early yet to make any statements about the new crop as the fruit set will start at the end of May earliest lasting untill Mid June. It is however stated that lack of rain at higher plateaus could affect the quantity of mountain figs, which is assumed to be better quality.  After this period it will be more clear to make estimations about the new crop. The exports of the current crop are almost the same as last year  being 55.659 vd. 57.393 as well as the average export prices being 4140 usd/mt vs.4120 usd/mt for whole dried figs averagely.
