ODESA: The weather this season contributes to a record corn harvest in Ukraine. Dry weather with night frosts will allow the agrarians to finish harvesting corn without losses. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Ukraine has increased the forecast of the corn harvest to 40 million tons compared to 30.63 million tons in 2020/21 MY.
The market expected a sharp decline in corn prices after the harvest campaign. But this did not happen as they received support from a speculative rise in wheat prices.
Purchase prices for corn in main Ukrainian ports at the weekend fell to 268-270 $/t under pressure from offers increase. But already, at the beginning of the week, they returned to the level of 275$/t, keeping up with prices for barley. Feed wheat is way ahead with 305-310 $/t CPT price in ports.
