After the enormous increase in the value of the Turkish Lira 2 weeks ago, slight depreciation is observed again. However, big hikes in the cost, such as energy, have seriously increased the prices of businesses as of the new year.
Market players reported that the markets are calm, that there is not much demand since buyers have just returned from their holidays. In parallel with the depreciation of the Turkish lira, the prices of raisins increase also. Although there is not much action at the İzmir Stock Exchange, transactions are made at 16 TL/kg for no.9 type raisins.
On the other hand, TMO, which has stopped buying raisins as of the end of the year, closely monitors the movements in the markets. It is said that if the exporters need it, they will put some raisins on the market for sale. It is also among the information that the first sales may start even at the end of this month.
No.9 type raisin export offer is at the level of 1550 Usd/mt FOB for prompt shipments, but 1600 Usd/mt is offered for long-term purchases. It has been reported that organic raisins are sold out, so the price, which is around 2350 Usd/mt, may increase gradually in the next future.
Today the Usd/TL rate was noted at 13.89 TL (13.03 last week) and Euro/TL rate at 15.72 TL levels (14.70 last week).
Turkey’s total exports range at 99.698 mt until 8 Jan. 2022, which was 95.463 mt last year during the same period, meaning an excess of more than 4.000 mt. Turkey exported 4109 mt of sultana raisins last week, being 3370 mt during the same week of the previous Season.
