ODESA: In Ukraine, hryvnia fell against the US dollar during the week by 2.4%. It led to some mismatch in the local market. Prices in local currency went slightly up to the level of 9700 UAH/t. But purchase prices for wheat in ports went down 5 $/t to the level of 305-310 $ / t. Traders are in no hurry to intensify purchases due to low export sales.
Nevertheless, such a mismatch will be soon dismissed because the Ukrainian market entirely depends on the international market. World tendencies will always correct local prices.
According to Chinese customs, the country imported 0.94 million tons of wheat in December, which is 7% more than a year ago. And the total import of wheat in 2021 amounted to a record 9.77 million tons, which is 17% higher than in 2020.
