More than $8.5 billion was raised by Ukrainian traders by the end of 2021 from the sale of fat and oil products to foreign markets. This was reported by the association “Ukroliyaprom”. Compared to 2020, export figures increased by almost 20%.
The share of these products in the total volume of Ukrainian exports is 12.6%, and in deliveries of agricultural products – 30.9%. The positive balance of Ukrainian foreign trade with fat and oil products for the year amounted to $8.1 billion.
Traditionally, the leading share in the export structure of Ukrainian fat and oil products is sunflower oil – 6.387 billion US dollars (74.6%).
As for sunflower meal accounts for 15% of the total supply – 1.28 billion US dollars.
The share of sunflower oil exports in the total export of goods from Ukraine is 9.4%, in the export of agricultural products and food – 23.1%.
“In 2021, despite the decrease in sunflower oil exports in physical terms (by 15.2%), exports in value terms increased by 20% compared to the level of the previous year (by 1.07 billion US dollars). The main importing countries of Ukrainian sunflower oil in 2021 remained EU countries – 32% of the total volume of shipments, India – 30.5% and China – 15.3%,” the association added.
