Sunflower harvesting has begun in Ukraine: as of August 25, oilseeds have been threshed from an area of 23.5 thousand hectares, and 18.8 thousand tons of seeds have already been threshed with a yield of 8 centners/ha, reported in APK-Inform with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of the country.
It is also reported that as of the indicated date, the harvesting of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine was carried out on an area of 6.6 million hectares (59% of the planned), of which 25.3 million tons of grain were harvested with an average yield of 38.4 q/ha.
In particular, at the reporting date:
– wheat was threshed on 4.6 million hectares (98% of the planned), and 18.8 million tons were threshed with a yield of 40.8 c/ha;
— threshed barley on 1.6 million hectares (99%), threshed 5.5 million tons with a yield of 34.6 q/ha;
— threshed peas on 108.8 thousand ha (98%), threshed 246.1 thousand tons with a yield of 22.6 q/ha;
– buckwheat was threshed on 1.6 thousand hectares (1%), 2 thousand tons were threshed with a yield of 13.2 q/ha;
— millet threshed on 4.1 thousand hectares (9%), threshed 9.1 thousand tons (yield – 21.9 q/ha).
“The highest yield of grain and leguminous crops are among the farmers of the Khmelnytsky region – 62.3 centners per hectare. The top three in terms of grain threshing of more than 2 million tons are Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovograd and Odessa regions,” the ministry said.
In addition, rapeseed was harvested on an area of 1.085 million hectares (99%), and 3.1 million tons of seeds were harvested with a yield of 28.4 c/ha.
