Specialists of the French Ministry of Agriculture expect an increase in the harvest of the main oilseeds (sunflower, soybeans, rapeseed) in the country in the 2022/23 marketing year – over 6.8 million tons against 5.64 million tons in the 2021/22 season. This is reported by Reuters.
The department’s experts expect the largest increase in gross harvest for rapeseed – 4.5 million tons (2022/23 MY) against 3.3 million tons (2021/22 MY). Sunflower production, according to preliminary estimates, will remain at the same level – 1.9 million tons. The soybean harvest, on the contrary, will slightly decrease – from 439 thousand tons to 413 thousand tons.
As for other crops, the harvest of French barley in the new season may decrease from 11.5 million tons to 11.4 million tons; corn – from 15.2 million tons to 11.3 million tons; soft wheat – from 35.4 million tons to 34.1 million tons; durum wheat – from 1.6 million tons to 1.4 million tons.
