ODESA: Ukraine in September exported 4.3 million tons of grains. This is the same volume as the previous two months. The total export of grains and oilseeds in September amounted to 6.9 million tons, which practically corresponds to the pre-war level.

In August, the dynamics of exports were quite good, and in September it even exceeded market expectations. If in August only 1.7 million tons of agricultural products were exported by the ports of Odessa, then in September it was already 3.8 million tons. Over the past two months, 252 ships with 5.7 million tons of agricultural products left the ports of Ukraine through the “Grain Corridor”.

In MY 2022/23, as of September 30, Ukraine exported 8.58 million tons of grain (14.36 million tons as of this date last year), including 4.3 million tons in September (5.6 million tons in September 2021). Since the beginning of the season, 3 million tons of wheat have been exported, of which 1.75 million tons were exported in September, while last year these figures were 8.9 and 4.4 million tons, respectively.

Kremlin is looking for an excuse to terminate the agreement on the export of grain from the ports of Ukraine

The 100-day grain agreement expires on November 19, and it is very important for Ukraine to ensure that the work of the “Grain corridor” continues in winter, spring and summer. However, this is very annoying for the Russian authorities, since it exported only 4.4 million tons of grain in September. Obviously, now the Kremlin is looking for an excuse to terminate the agreement on the export of grain from the ports of Ukraine, signed on July 22 in Istanbul by representatives of Ukraine, Turkey, the UN and Russia.
