Germany will support the work of the agricultural sector of Ukraine by providing by the end of this year 9 million euros for the purchase of generators, as well as to help restore farms affected by the war.
This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture of Germany Cem Ozdemir during a meeting with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy informs.
Also, according to Cem Ozdemir, Germany is preparing a joint project worth 5 million euros for the development of domestic horticulture.
Mykola Solsky, in turn, noted that this project is very relevant for Ukraine against the background of the government program, which provides an opportunity to receive a grant for the development of its own horticulture, berry and viticulture, and which is very popular among farmers. Thus, in the five months since its launch, grants for more than UAH 240 million have been agreed.
In addition, the ministers discussed strengthening cooperation in the implementation of the Grain from Ukraine initiative. Mykola Solsky, taking this opportunity, thanked Germany for being one of the first to join this humanitarian program and finance the transportation of a ship with grain from Ukraine to Ethiopia.
“We will be grateful for further support”
“Many countries have reported that they are ready to participate in this program. This is important from several aspects. First, it is in principle correct in terms of humanitarian relations in the world. Second, Africa needs to know who really cares about it, and because of the actions of which country they suffer. We are working to ensure that the work of the grain corridor is continued for as long as possible and we can deliver our food to where it is needed all the time. And, of course, we will be grateful for further support from our partners,” Mykola Solskyy stressed.
Recall that in Germany, at the world’s leading exhibition on animal husbandry EuroTier 2022, which took place from November 15 to 18 in Hanover, a professional International Conference “Struggle for the Existence of Ukrainian Animal Husbandry” was held. At it, the participants considered the large-scale consequences of the Russian war of conquest for the livestock industry of Ukraine and how sustainable recovery can be ensured.
The Marshall Plan for the dairy industry of Ukraine was also presented in Germany.
