Ahead of the extension of the “grain agreement”, Russia is always looking for many reasons why the agreement cannot be continued. This is how Denys Marchuk, the Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, commented on the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation that the West allegedly “buried” the Black Sea food initiative with its sanctions, the press service of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council reported.
“Once again, we hear statements from them that some clauses of the “grain agreement” are not implemented in favor of Russia. They constantly complain that they cannot sell their grain and fertilizers. This is a lie because great amount of grain are shipped from Russia every month. Another thing is that commercial companies that do not want to have anything to do with Russia do not want to work with them, and they do not have enough of their own fleet of sea grain carriers, so they have problems with logistics,” the expert noted, adding that agricultural export statistics show that today the Russian Federation is able to export the necessary volumes of agricultural products.
D. Marchuk also reminded that the Ukrainian side is trying to expand the “grain agreement” to the ports of the Mykolaiv region since November 2022.
