Sunflower Seeds
TIANJIN: Market participants reported that Chinese sunflower seed prices continued to rise in March, and the market sales were slow. Prices are expected to fall back after mid-April as the weather warms up. Exporters are in dire straits. This week’s export standard is 361 sunflower seeds, 200-210 seeds/50 g. Reference export prices are $1960-1990/ton, and for 190-200 seeds/50G $2040-2090/ton.

Dalian: Market participants also reported that sunflower kernel prices rose accordingly affected by higher sunflower seed prices. Export markets are mainly in Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Kernel exporters are also in trouble. The price of confectionary grade sunflower kernel is $1860-1890/ton FOB Dalian or Tianjin. Bakery sunflower kernel in the domestic market sales are slow. This week’s reference price is $1810- $1850/ton, FOB Tianjin or Dalian.
