The area under soybeans and rapeseeds in the season 2023/24 in the United States will remain unchanged from the level of the current MY. So, these two crops may be allocated 35.4 million hectares and 0.9 million hectares respectively, according to the survey of specialists of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), which was conducted in the first half of March.
At the same time, experts report that farmers may slightly reduce the area of sunflowers – by 0.1 million hectares to 0.6 million hectares.
In addition, it is projected expansion of corn in 2023/24 MY to 37.2 million hectares, which will exceed the result of the previous season by 1.4 million hectares.
Wheat is also expected to increase to 20.2 million ha (+1.7 million ha); sorghum to 2.4 million ha (+0.2 million ha); barley to 1.2 million ha (no change); and oats to 1.1 million ha (+0.1 million ha).
