Russia Blocks the “Grain Corridor” From Ukraine

Spread the news!

Russia once again blocked the registration and inspection of the incoming fleet, which should move along the “Grain Corridor”.

On May 8th, the Russian Federation once again actually stopped the grain corridor, refusing to register vessels for entry and conduct their inspections. This approach is completely contrary to the terms of the current agreement.
Thus, the destructive policy of the Russian Federation makes it impossible to draw up an inspection plan in accordance with the procedures of the Joint Coordination Center. It provides for daily approval by all parties of the inspection plan, both at the exit and at the entrance.

As of today, 90 vessels are awaiting inspection in Turkish territorial waters. Among them are 62 vessels going for loading. Inspections of both incoming and outgoing fleets are suspended.

Ukraine categorically does not accept Russia’s attempts to stop the registration and inspection of the incoming fleet. The grain initiative cannot work in such conditions. Ukraine is expecting the position of their partners, the UN and Turkey. For today it is still not clear will the “Grain Corridor” work after 18th May or not.
