Grain Corridor: No Vessel Passed Inspection During the Week

Spread the news!

Stable operation of the Grain Corridor was blocked by the Russian Federation

According to the association “Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business”, Ukraine is meeting more and more obstacles in grain exports. Thus, during the 41st week of operation of the grain corridor (May 8-14), not a single vessel passed inspection at the exit. And no vessel was registered for inspection at the entrance. In addition, 60 vessels are awaiting inspection.

Accordingly, at the moment, only the vessels that have called earlier are being loaded at the seaports, and they will run out in the coming days. The Russians practically stopped the possibility of further export of Ukrainian agricultural products by sea.

The number of vessels that were loaded this week was 13 units. This is 2 vessels more than the previous week. But they have not yet passed the necessary inspection to move to customers and are awaiting it. Such volumes remain among the lowest indicators this year.

The largest export volumes during the 41st week of operation of the grain corridor were: corn (50% of exports during this period), wheat (28%), and barley (13%).

Ukrainian products went to the countries of Asia (China, Bangladesh and Türkiye), Africa (Egypt, Sudan) and Europe (Spain).

At the same time, Bloomberg, citing Turkish officials, reported that Russia will agree to extend the grain deal, which expires on May 18. An announcement is expected today.
