Ukrainian government adopted the resolution “On amendments to the Procedure for the Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity”, to ensure the implementation of EU legislation in Ukraine with regard to the approaches to the classification of certain goods according to the EU Combined Nomenclature. Reported the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine on June 24.
“This will ensure that all customs authorities apply the rules of classification of goods in a uniform manner when making decisions on the classification of goods under the Ukrainian Classification of Goods for Foreign Economic Activity (UKTZED) and decisions on binding information on the classification of goods”, – emphasized in the ministry.
It is also noted that the adopted resolution of the government instructed the State Customs Service of Ukraine to ensure:
- Publishing a list of the effective decisions on the classification of goods in accordance with the EU Combined Nomenclature provided for in the relevant EU legal acts as of the date of adoption of the resolution, provided that such decisions do not conflict with the provisions of the International Convention on the Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System, and updating it at least once a quarter;
- Preparing and publishing information on the conformity of the codes of goods specified in the relevant EU legal acts with the codes of the current version of the UKTZED Commodity Nomenclature;
- Finalising the relevant software.
