Hungarian Agriculture Minister Istvan Nagy announced on his Facebook page that he will travel to Türkiye to hold talks with his Turkish counterpart on the extension of the agreement allowing Ukraine to export grain through Black Sea ports.
“Türkiye is a key player in overcoming Ukraine’s grain import market challenges in the long term,” Istvan Nagy said.
Nagy said he was negotiating on behalf of central and eastern European countries affected by Ukraine’s increased grain flows.
The deal expires next week. Moscow has repeatedly said it sees no reason to extend the deal, complaining that Western sanctions are affecting its agricultural exports.
