Mass harvesting of rapeseed and grain crops in Belarus is scheduled for the end of the second half of July. Nikolai Leshik, head of the main plant growing department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the country, told BelTA.
Now, according to him, local agricultural producers are actively harvesting winter barley and only some farmers have just started threshing winter rape and winter wheat.
“In this regard, it is too early to talk globally about harvesting works. We tentatively plan to start mass harvesting of grain crops and rape on July 18-20,” Leshik said.
He also noted that the precipitation in Belarus has improved the condition of crops and leveled out the difficult situation in the fields – the moisture supply of soils has improved.
“There is an intensive pouring of grain in wheat, triticale and rye. Barley is waxy ripeness, and there is no increase in yield due to grain filling. At the same time, rape crops are still green,” added the head of the main department.
