Ukrainian farmers expected wheat prices to decrease after the Grain Corridor closure. But it didn’t happen so far. According to “APK-Inform“, the price of milling wheat is even slightly increasing in most regions of the country this week.
Prices are supported by the insufficient supply of grain of the new crop due to the restraint of sales by farmers and the reduction of the pace of the harvesting campaign in some regions of the country due to rains. Market participants often report that in terms of quality indicators, wheat of the new crop is closer to feed specifications. More than that, in the central region of the country, there is an increased share of grain infected with soot. These factors also affect the gradual increase in prices.
Thus, as of July 26, processors mostly fix demand prices for milling wheat in the range of 5,500-6,500 UAH/t, that is 160-170 USD/t on CPT basis.
