On the CBOT exchange, wheat prices continued the downward trend of the previous 6 trading days, totaling $235.2 per tonne on 2 August, compared to $239.6 per tonne on 1 August.
It is worth noting that wheat futures fell in price on the exchange, despite the fact that Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian Danube ports the day before had stimulated a short-term jump in prices on the exchange (by almost 5%). In particular, the shelling of the port of Izmail in Ukraine by Russian troops highlighted the risk of a further decline in Ukrainian exports. However, prices returned to a downward trend during trading as the market weighed the impact of the attack on global supplies.
As a result of trading on August 2 on Euronext, wheat quotations also continued to decline and amounted to 233.75 euros per tonne against 236 euros per tonne in the previous trading.
