Australia in June exported about 329.1 thousand tons of canola – this is 35% below the level of May 2023, reports Grain Central with reference to data from the National Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
It is noted that the most canola during the reporting period was exported by Australia to Pakistan, Japan and Belgium – 120.6 thousand tons, 71.8 thousand tons and 62.06 thousand tons, respectively.
“Market operators expect export volumes of Australian canola, until the arrival of the new crop oilseed in November, will be about 150,000-300,000 tons monthly,” the report said.
In addition, ABS said overseas shipments of the Australian crop rose to 4.81 million tons (+0.17 million tons YoY) between October 2022 and June 2023.
“Key destinations for the country’s oilseed shipments in MY 2022/23 are Belgium with 887,500 tons, Germany with 783,300 tons and the UAE with 678,700 tons,” ABS explained.
