The First Vessel Left Odessa Port After the Completion of the Grain Agreement

The first container vessel left Odessa port. The Minister of the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov informed about the launch of the temporary corridor for commercial vessels to/from Odessa port.

He clarified that on the morning of August 16, the container ship JOSEPH SCHULTE (Hong Kong flag) has left the port of Odessa. It had been in the port since February 23, 2022. Now it is moving along the temporary corridor from the Black Sea seaports of Ukraine, heading for the Bosphorus. There are more than 30 thousand tons of cargo (2114 containers) on board, including food.

The corridor will be primarily used for the evacuation of vessels that were in the Ukrainian ports of Chornomorsk, Odessa and Pivdenny at the time of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

The last time a vessel left Odessa port was exactly a month ago – on July 16, within the framework of the grain agreement.
