Ukrainian harvest in 2023 can reach the level of 76.7 million tons. This is 5% more than in 2022. The forecast improvement is due to favourable weather conditions. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, this year Ukrainian farmers can harvest about 56.4 million tons of grain and 20.3 million tons of oilseeds.
We should remind that for the second year in a row, Ukrainian farmers have to harvest in extreme conditions, being under constant threat of shelling.
the Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine Denys Bashlyk has confirmed the positive forecast despite all the difficulties. “Thanks to favourable weather conditions, we have every reason to change the harvest forecast in a positive direction – up to 76.7 million tons. Although the total area of spring and winter crops sown this year was 980,000 hectares less than last year, and amounted to 10,895,000 hectares. The weather conditions contributed to an almost record-breaking yield of grain crops, which allows for a significant increase in the volume of crop production.”
