SovEkon analysts raised the forecast for Russian wheat production in 2023 – to 92.1 mln tonnes from 87.1 mln tonnes a month earlier, reports Apkinform
“This is the second largest production volume in the entire observation history after last year’s record result. . The assessment was increased due to increased yields in the Central and Volga regions,” the message states.
“SovEkon estimates wheat production in Central region at 21.1 mln tonnes against 18.9 mln tonnes a month earlier, in the Volga region – 17.8 mln tonnes against 15.7 mln tonnes,” the report specifies.
Last year’s wheat harvest in Russia amounted to 104.2 mln tonnes, and 82.6 million tons on average over the past five years.
