About 3.45 million tonnes of palm oil were sold from Indonesia to foreign markets in June 2023, according to the national association GAPKI. According to their estimates, shipments abroad increased by almost 55% compared to the previous reporting month.
At the same time, demand for crude palm oil (crude palm oil) increased most noticeably – from 138,000 tonnes (May 2023) to 504,000 tonnes.
However, despite the increase in sales, production dynamics in June were on a downward trend. Output fell by 13% to 4 million tonnes.
Against this background, by the end of the month the domestic stocks decreased to 3.7 million tonnes (-21% against May).
Earlier, GAPKI said that it intends to continue working with the government of Indonesia to find new markets for palm oil. This year this product is most actively contracted in China, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
