Export Volumes and Directions in Ukraine

Spread the news!

The export of agricultural products in Ukraine for 15 days of October amounted to 1.89 million tons. This is 4% more than in the same period of the previous month. Thus, Ukrainian experts expect exports in October in the range of 3.7-3.9 million tons. It indicates that alternative export channels have reached their maximum volumes and stabilized. The new grain corridor, which is starting to work more actively every week, can be considered the main promising direction at the moment. Nevertheless, export by land transport continues to play a significant role in realizing the export potential of Ukraine.

Road transport

Export volumes of truck transportation remain at the level of previous months. Demand for this type of transport has increased in recent months. But it still remains far from last season’s records. It is interesting that the share of soybeans in auto exports occupies a leading position. While the volume of rapeseed transportation is declining.

Railway transport

466,000 tons were exported by rail in 15 days of October, which is 10% less than in the same period of the previous month. The spurt in rail demand appears to be subsiding, and the record figures for November-December 2022 will remain elusive. This is due to the fact that due to the more or less stable operation of the new grain corridor, shippers began to reorient themselves to exports through the deep-sea ports of the Black Sea.
