Dalian: According to exporters’ feedback from the sunflower market, the domestic demand increased in winter. But recently the producing areas have been affected by snowy weather, and transport difficulties increased. Southeast Asia’s market share is gradually increasing with the arrival of winter and prices are stable.
Reference prices for confectionery-grade sunflower seeds this week ranged from €1,440 to €1,468 per tonne FOB Dalian or Tianjin. Reference prices for bakery-grade sunflower seeds ranged from €1,420 to €1,450 per tonne FOB Tianjin or Dalian.
Sunflower Seeds
Tianjin: In November, there was sufficient supply of goods in markets around the world. Domestic market demand increased during the peak season, traders actively replenished inventory. The export market price is higher than the same period last year, but the price is not competitive. Therefore, the export quantity is lower than in the same period last year.
Influenced by eating habits, domestic market demand increased in winter, supporting prices. This week, the reference price of export standard sunflower seed 361 (200-210 seeds/50g) is €1,495-€1525/tonne, and the reference price of 190-200 seeds/50g is €1,515-€1543/tonne.
