Many Ukrainian sunflower processors have suspended sales of sunflower oil amid a slump in export prices for the finished product. This is reported by one of the traders in a review for the Lubaretskyi soybean processing plant.
The materials note that during the week the price of sunflower oil decreased by $30-40 per ton – to $770 or €711 on the base SRT Danube.
“Sunflower is not getting cheaper; many people’s processing is no longer moving forward. It will not be easy for processors for sure,” the trader comments.
As for soybean oil, its cost is stable both in Ukraine and on the world market – €630-670 per ton. More and more processors are facing the problem of physical export of oil – the price is there, but selling the product is becoming more and more difficult.
“And on the domestic market, demand from the feed industry, firstly, quite limited, and secondly, the desired price with delivery is lower than the plants are ready to sell from the spot, counting the equivalent of export sales,” the report says.
