Free Trade Agreement Between Ukraine and Türkiye

Ukrainian Economy Minister Yuliya Svyridenko stated that Ukraine and Türkiye are ready to ratify a free trade agreement.

On December 12, 2023, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyridenko met with the Ambassador of Türkiye to Kyiv Mustafa Levent Bilgen. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy, the sides discussed the expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Free Trade Agreement Will Enter Into Force in Early 2024

The statement said that the governments of both countries are ready to ratify the Free Trade Agreement signed between Ukraine and Türkiye in the near future, adding that after the completion of the ratification procedure, the agreement will enter into force in early 2024, opening up new opportunities for duty-free or partially duty-free trade between the two countries.

Grain Working Group

“The Free Trade Agreement will also simplify logistics problems, stimulate the development of Ukrainian trade in war conditions, and at the same time open new horizons in Ukraine for our partners from Türkiye. We will also establish a Grain Working Group to discuss global and bilateral trade in the grain market. Ukraine highly appreciates Türkiye’s participation and the protection of the grain export initiative, which is an important factor in ensuring global food security.” said Minister Svyridenko.
