During the week, prices for corn delivered to the Black Sea ports were 150-155 $/t or 138-143€/t. But UAH prices, due to the dollar strengthening, increased by 50-100 UAH/t to 6100-6250 UAH/t. Agrarians continue to hold back sales and complete harvesting.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of January 25, Ukraine harvested 58.724 million tons of grain and leguminous crops from 97% of the area or 10.576 million hectares. At the same time, 28.48 million tons of corn were threshed from 90% of the area or 3.657 million hectares with a yield of 7.79 t/ha. In particular, over the last week Ukrainian farmers managed to harvest another 48 thousand tons of corn. USDA experts estimate corn crop in Ukraine at 30.5 million tons. But if due to unfavorable weather, it is not possible to harvest the remaining 10% of the area, then the loss of 2 million tons of corn could lead to higher prices.

Grain exports from Ukraine in January exceeded the same figure in 2023 by 22%. But the volume of deliveries to ports decreased and farmers have some time to wait for better prices before spring sowing campaign.
