According to the Presidential Decree published in the Turkish Official Gazette, customs duty on green lentil imports has been reset until 30 June. Within the framework of the import regime decision, the customs duty applied to green lentil imports at varying rates on the basis of various countries was reset until 30 June.
In accordance with the decision on the amendment of the import regime decision published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette, a regulation was made in the footnote in Chapter 7 of the additional list of the product in question. According to the added footnote, the customs duty on green lentil imports was reset to 30 June.
In the written statement made by the Ministry of Trade, it was stated that the decision to reduce the customs duty was made to prevent supply security and fluctuations in prices.
In the statement, it was stated that the customs duty was reduced until the domestic harvest period, “the application … was determined by taking into account the harvest period in our country in a way that would not harm the production motivation of our farmers”.
