Dalian: The National Grain and Oil Information Center estimated in July that the national soybean planting area would be 9.2 million hectares in 2021, a year-on-year decrease of 682,000 hectares. The country’s total soybean output is expected to be 18.4 million tons, decreasing 1.2 million tons year on year.
It is estimated that the total domestic soybean consumption in 2021/22 will be 111.72 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.44 million tons. Among them, edible and industrial consumption was 17.38 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 450,000 tons; crushing consumption was 101.5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3 million tons. Soybean imports are expected to be 102 million tons in 2021/22, a year-on-year increase of 4 million tons. It is estimated that the national soybean balance of 2021/22 will be 610,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 630,000 tons.
