ODESA: Sunflower harvesting has started in Ukraine. The average yield at the start of the season is 2 t / ha. The purchasing prices have now actually reached their seasonal bottom.
However, sunflower seeds prices are still significantly higher than last year. Currently, the sunflower price is at the level of 16 000 UAH. In 2020, as of the reporting date, the price was at the level of 11 000 UAH.
As a rule, in September, the Ukrainian sunflower seeds price goes down. But this year, despite the expectation of a significant yield, no further decline is expected. Ukrainian agrarians have seeded sunflower on a total area of 6.4 mln ha. USDA forecast for new crop is 16.7 mln tons.
