In the ongoing season, cumin has spread its roots across 5,44,100 hectares in Gujarat. Comparing this to the previous season’s sowing of 2,68,800 hectares, it’s a remarkable surge of 2,75,300 hectares or a whopping 102.41%. Contrasting this with the previous year’s sowing of 1,65,400 hectares, it’s a substantial leap of 2,18,600 hectares or an impressive 132.16%. Kutch, too, has embraced the surge in cumin cultivation. The latest data unveils cumin cultivation across 49,400 hectares in Kutch in the ongoing season. Comparing this to the previous season’s sowing of 37,600 hectares, it reflects an increase of 11,800 hectares or a commendable 31.38%.
