Turkish raisin prices continue to rise every week. Raw material closed the week at 85 TL or 2,56 €. Export figures also showed FOB prices of 2650 USD or 2460 EURO for grape number 9. Because of this uncertainty of raw material prices, companies cannot give long-term prices. Farmers do not want to sell their products due to the constant increase in prices. Except for large companies, export companies that work without stock have difficulty finding products.
Ferhat Şen, who became the new president of the Tariş grape association after 37 years of management change last week, said, “We will solve the problems of the producers, our number of partners will increase again and we will be a place where farmers take shelter again.” The new president said that they will work for the benefit of the farmers. In previous years TMO used to buy 80-90 thousand tons of raisins, but in recent years it has decreased to 12 thousand tons, and they will try to increase it to its previous levels again, he added.
