Argentine farmers can thresh about 21 million tons of soybeans at the end of the harvest season 2022/23. This is reported by Reuters, citing the forecast of the Grain Exchange of Buenos Aires. The country’s oilseed harvest is nearly 94% complete, according to the experts’ updated report.
“Corn harvest activity tends to increase as the soybean harvest is completed,” the materials said.
The exchange also said in its latest report that about one-third of the corn planted has already been threshed. The production of South American grain, according to preliminary estimates, will amount to 36 million tons.
Meanwhile, the experts note, the sowing of wheat for the 2023/2024 MY crop last week was delayed due to heavy rainfall in Buenos Aires. So far, the crop has been planted nearly 20% of the 6.3 million hectares (15.6 million acres).
