Within the next two weeks, Australia expects China to make a positive decision on the full settlement of the dispute between the countries on barley tariffs. This was stated by the Minister of Trade Don Farrell, according to CNA.
“We expect in the next couple of weeks a favorable decision on the tariffs, which are currently restraining the entry of Australian barley into the Chinese market,” the Minister said.
As noted, in April of this year, Australia announced that it would suspend the case in the World Trade Organization regarding China’s anti-dumping duties on barley, after China announced plans to revise them.
As political tensions between the two countries ease, Australia has also called on China to lift its current trade restrictions.
