Australia Increased Canola Exports in December

About 883.8 thousand tons of canola were exported by Australia to foreign markets in December 2022. Compared to the previous month (November 2022), oilseed exports increased by more than 100 thousand tons – from 761.7 thousand tons according to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics (ABS).

It is specified that shipments in the period under review exceeded the previous record recorded in March last year (854.9 thousand tons).

Most of the Australian canola in December was imported by Belgium – 241.5 thousand tons. Next comes Germany, which bought 183.6 thousand tons of this crop. The Netherlands closes the top three – 129.4 thousand tons.

The top 5 also includes France and the UAE – 123.4 thousand tons and 65.9 thousand tons, respectively.

In general, over the past three months (October-December), Australia has sent abroad almost 1.8 million tons of oilseeds. According to the National Federation AOF (Australian Oilseeds Federation), in the current season, canola exports from the country may exceed 6 million tons
