In the first half of the year, Germany sold to foreign markets about 1.5 million tons of biodiesel – it is 16% higher than the level of January-June 2022. Imports in the reporting period, on the contrary, decreased – by 11% to 686.1 thousand tons. Such data was released by the German Association of Oil and Protein Crops Producers (Union for the Promotion of Oil and Protein Plants, UFOP).
It is noted that Germany exported most of all biodiesel to the EU countries: the Netherlands (698 thousand tons), Belgium (164 thousand tons), Poland (109 thousand tons), France (62 thousand tons) and Sweden (59 thousand tons). However, key buyers also include the US, which increased purchases more than 2.5 times, from 91 thousand tons (Jan-June 2022) to 242 thousand tons.
